“Aero is everything” – this is what Specialized has been preaching for years and it is still the driving force in their development. In their search for tube shapes that provide the fastest frame allowed by UCI rules, Specialized took a page from the Venge development book and used our FreeFoil Shape Library.

Armed with a wide variety of optimized tube shapes, the Tarmac SL7 was tested in the in-house wind tunnel to plug these molds into a modular test bike. The result? The new Tarmac is the fastest road bike ever tested. No compromises, pure speed!

Building on the accumulated knowledge around the development of the Venge, the new Tarmac uses easy integration to create a clean and, above all, fast cockpit. Cable routing for each component configuration has been improved.

SRAM’s Rival eTAP AXS rear derailleur ensures that you can shift through the 12 gears quietly, quickly and precisely, while the matching hydraulic disc brake reliably brakes you in any situation and in any weather. DT Swiss R470 rim wheels give you the grip you need on straight lines and sharp corners.
